Q. What subjects do we cover?
A. Everything that is covered under Course outline as well as:
• Building with brigs, • Basic Welding, • Basic electricity, • Basic plumbing
• Basic tiling, • Basic woodwork and carpentry, • Fencing, • Bush fire fighting
• Basic vehicle maintenance, • Road maintenance, • Erosion control
• Weapon handling, • Photography and many more
Q. Can I make money for myself or do I get paid a salary?
A. Although it is not our primary concern, we do have opportunities for students to do guiding and other work in order to make some extra money. No salary!!!
Q. What is the minimum age for acceptance on a course?
A. Anyone can come however a preferred age of 18 for the Diploma course is preferred however we use our discretion.
Q. Can woman do the course?
A. We do except woman but great emphasis is placed on the ruggedness of such a course towards the student and parents before acceptance.
Q. Where do I stay?
A. All students stay and share a communal house which they are responsible for.
Q. How does holiday work?
A. All students work and study for a 8 week period and go home for 9 days
Q. Do we get weekends off?
A. A conservationist is like a farmer, you are on stand-
Q. Can I go to church on Sundays?
A. This is strongly encouraged since we base our training on Christian standards
Q. Can I receive friends and family at the student house?
A. As long as they do not interfere with your normal routine. If they stay overnight or enjoy a meal, a small charge will be liable.
Q. Do I have to complete my 4 years with you in order to get my diploma?
A. The diploma is issued by UNISA. You can continue with your studies at UNISA even if you leave us. You will however only receive recognition from us for experience successfully completed with us.
Q. What career opportunities will open up once graduated?
A. Many different career opportunities could arise which include conservation officer, reserve or section manager, ecologist, consultant, field guide, research assistant, lodge manager, professional hunter, etc.
V. Watter vakke dek ons?

V. Kan ek geld maak vir myself of kry ek ‘n selaris?
A. Alhoewel dit nie ons primêre doel is nie, gee ons geleendhede aan die studente om geld te verdien van tyd tot tyd. Geen selaris!!!
V. Wat is die minimum ouderdom om aanvaar te word vir ‘n kursus?
A. Enige person kan kom maar die verkose ouderdom is 18 vir die Diploma kursus maar ons gebruik ons diskressie.
V. Kan dames / meisies ook die kursus doen?
A. Ons aanvaar dames maar groot druk word daarop gesit dat dit ‘n baie harde en fiesise kursus is en die student en ouer moet dit so aanvaar.
V. Waar bly ons?
A. Al die studente bly in een gemeenskaplike huis waarvoor hulle verantwoordelik is.
V. Hoe werk ons vakansie?
A. Alle studente werk en studeer vir 8 weke en gaan dan vir 9 dae huis toe.
V. Kry on naweke af?
A. ‘n Natuurbewaarder is soos ‘n oer, jy is op bystand 24/7 so jy kry nie offisieel af oor naweke nie maar verkeer nowmaalweg rustiger oor ‘n naweek.
V. Kan ek Sondae kerk toe gaan?
A. Dit word sterk aanbeveel aangesien ons kursus op Christen waardes gebasseer is.
V. Kan ek vriende and familie by die studente huis ontvang?
A. Solank dit nie met jou rotine inmeng nie. As hulle wil oorslaap of ‘n maaltyd eet sal ‘n klein fooi verlang word.
V. Moet ek die 4 jaar by julle voltooi om my diploma te kry?
A. Die diploma word deur UNISA uitgereik. Jy kan nogsteeds met jou studies voortgaan selfs al verlaat jy ons. Erkenning sal vir praktiese ervaring sal slegs gegee word waar ons voel dit het op u toepassing.
