About Ferdie
Having been involved in the wildlife conservation industry for many years Ferdie has built up a wealth of knowledge. With his love of the African Bush and the creatures that reside there Ferdie has worked and travelled throughout Southern Africa. From Caprivi to the Cape Together with his wife Pru he has sought out ways of educating people in the sustainable use of our natural resources ensuring that they are there for future generations to enjoy
Ferdie qualified as a Level III / SKS(DA) (Specialist Knowledge and Skills in Dangerous Animals) guide with FGASA in 1998 under the guidance of the former Cleve Cheney of the Kruger National Park. He became a FGASA accredited trainer in 1999 and started with a National Diploma in Nature Conservation course by UNISA in 2001. He has since broken away from FGASA to concentrate on higher standards within the field guide and conservation industry. He is now fully committed to training Diploma nature conservation field guides and is busy working on a National BTech (Honours) degree through UNISA.
Many of his ex student are now in management positions throughout South Africa and are in high demand due to the recognised level of training provided by Ferdie. His standard of excellence speaks for itself
